Miliaulani’s Parents: William and Frances Lucas
- William Huddy Lucas (1911–2004): Born on March 29, 1911, in Honolulu, Hawaii Territory, William Huddy Lucas passed away on February 1, 2004, in Waimanalo, Hawaii. He was the son of George William Lucas and Miriam Mabel Kalikohou Robertson. He married Frances Pupua Townsend on April 7, 1934, in Honolulu. ( will add more on Grand dad )
- Frances Pupua (Townsend) Lucas (1912–2009): Born on March 31, 1912, in Honolulu, Hawaii Territory, Frances Pupua Lucas died on April 3, 2009, in Waimanalo, Hawaii. She was the daughter of John Smith Townsend and Frances Miliaulani Kaleikoa Townsend. Frances was a former nurse at Leahi Hospital and later dedicated her work to the Queen Liliuokalani Children’s Center, demonstrating a life of care and service.
Miliaulani’s Late Husband: The Reverend Charles Gordon Kamohoaliʻi Hopkins
The Reverend Charles Gordon Kamohoaliʻi Hopkins (1931–2008) led a life of significant service and dedication, particularly within the Episcopal Church and the Hawaiian community.
- Early Life and Service: Born on January 5, 1931, in Kaimuki, Hawaii, he graduated from Punahou School in 1948. He honorably served four years in the Air Force, stationed in Manila and at Hickam Air Force Base, before his discharge in 1952.
- Marriage and Ministry: In 1953, he married Frances Miliaulani Lucas, and together they had five children. In 1963, he moved his family to Evanston, Illinois, to attend Seabury-Western Theological Seminary, and was ordained as a priest in 1966. His ministry began at Christ Memorial Church in Kilauea and St. Thomas Church in Hanalei, Kauaʻi.
- Contributions to Hawaii: From 1969 to 1975, he served as Cannon Pastor at St. Andrew’s Cathedral in Honolulu, during which time he also earned a Bachelor of Arts in Hawaiian Studies from the University of Hawaiʻi at Manoa in 1974. He later served as Cannon Missioner to the Hawaiian Community and was priest-in-charge at Grace Mission in Hoʻolehua, Molokaʻi, and St. Matthew’s in Waimanalo. He also ministered to rural congregations at the Church of the Holy Cross in Malaekahana and St. John’s By-the-Sea in Kahaluʻu until his retirement in 1996. He was deeply connected to these communities, where he felt most at home.
- Passing: Reverend Hopkins passed away on January 1, 2008, at Queen’s Hospital in Honolulu.

Libert Landgraf has been a significant part of our mother’s life, as her husband of 34 years. Public records and your family blog indicate his profession as a forester, serving as a district forester for the island of Hawaii.
